A Special Request

Alicia Thorne was a member of the TRC junior team which qualified for the Festival of the Hunter Challenge Championship to be held at Aston-le-Walls on the 5th and 6th June 2010 . She no longer has a horse which is capable of this level of performance and is looking to ride on a suitable horse if anyone has one and would be willing for her to ride in this competition to represent the club.

BRC AREA NOVICE INDOOR SHOWJUMPING 2010 PENCOED

Anyone interested in representing TRC as an individual or team member at the 'NOVICE' INDOOR QUALIFIER AT PENCOED COLLEGE on Sunday 21st February 2010 please contact Vicky or Cath Price asap. This event is open to novice horses or ponies, juniors and seniors capable of jumping a 3ft course.This is a qualifier for the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS held in Hartpury in April.

Please remember that all horses and ponies must be up-to-date with their vaccinations. Entries must be sent to BRC Head Office before the end of January soplease get in touch with your full details asap.****************

Membership

The 12 month membership which runs from Nov 2009 to 31st Oct 2010. which was £20, is now CLOSED. Our 6 month membership runs from April 2010 to 31st Oct 2010 and costs £25 (This extra cost is incurred by  the necessary additional administrative procedures.) Membership for this date will accepted only during the month of March.

BEWARE Horse Thieves About

We have had reports from people locally ( Llanover and Abergavenny) who have found their horses with a plait in the mane, (possibly an indication of a target for thieves who obtain false passports before stealing the horses). A red van has been reported leaving the vicinity in the early hours of the morning, caught on surveillance cameras. Police have been alerted.(posted 1st Jan 2010)

Update

The response from members has been very encouraging - the first two sessions were oversubscribed and the sessions were a great success with riders of all abilities feeling they had learnt a lot from the first lesson. On reflection it was highlighted that young horses will benefit from being taught in smaller numbers.

Unfortunately Sarah Spencer-Williams has been unwell and unable to teach but Jules Horton gave a great first flatwork session.

There is an obvious appetite for more training sessions amongst club members so please book your place for early for 14th February ( see details below)
