AmTrust Equine RWHS British Riding Club Championships -
underway for 2010!
Unique 'grass roots' competition continues for second year and offers a new 'once in a lifetime' experience for the lucky winners…
Royal Windsor Horse Show has continued its relationship with British Riding Clubs (BRC) and AmTrust Equine Insurance to restage the AmTrust Equine RWHS British Riding Club Championships for 2010.
In association with PONY and Horse&Rider Magazines, the AmTrust Equine RWHS British Riding Club Championships represent a truly unique opportunity for any rider at grass-roots level to qualify for the Finals, which will once again be held during the Royal Windsor Horse Show in May 2010. Royal Windsor Horse Show has been running for over 65 years and takes place at the iconic venue of Windsor Castle in Her Majesty The Queen's private grounds.
Launched this year, the competition proved a major success with competitors from all over the country taking part and six talented riders beating the competition to take the 2009 Champions titles at Royal Windsor Horse Show in May. The winners were also invited back to Windsor in August for their 'once in a lifetime' experience when they were presented with their trophies by idols Laura Bechtolsheimer and Ben Maher, in the main arena at the Alltech FEI European Jumping & Dressage Championships.
Next year the winners are in for an even bigger treat. The six Champions of the 2010 competition will each win a five day trip to the 'Horse capital of the World' - Lexington, USA - which includes flights, transport, hotels and meals for each Champion as well as tickets to the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games 2010 in September.* As if that's not enough, during their stay the lucky Champions will take centre stage at a very special equestrian evening at the Lexington Civic Centre where they will be presented with their Champions' trophies.
Qualifiers for 2010 are already underway, hosted by individual riding clubs across the UK. Area Finals will then whittle down the competition to leave just the top riders from each class, qualifying for the Finals at Windsor, which take place between in May 2010.
Simon Brooks-Ward, Event Director for Royal Windsor Horse Show said: "We were extremely pleased with the way this brand new competition took off in its first year and are delighted to run it again with continued sponsorship from AmTrust Equine. It offers an exceptional opportunity to ride in the main arena at Royal Windsor Horse Show and get the trip of a lifetime to Lexington, so I'd urge everyone out there to contact their local Riding Club and find out when the next qualifier is running. We'll see you at Windsor!"
Perdie Reid, Claims Manager at AmTrust Equine, commented: "We are thrilled to put our name to a Championship that offers our customers, the grass roots riders, the chance to compete in the same arena as their idols and experience the excitement of international competition."
For both Dressage and Jumping, there will be Junior and Senior Classes and full terms and conditions of the Championship and details of which clubs are hosting qualifiers are currently available at
www.rwhs.co.uk; www.amtrustequine.co.uk and www.bhs.org. To find your local British Riding Club visit www.britishridingclubs.org.uk Ticket information:

You don't have to hold the full range you can choose just one or two classes. The idea is that as many clubs as possible hold a competition. Round one is open to both RC. And non RC members. The winners of these classes will then go forward to an area qualifier. To be eligible for this round they will need to be RC. Members and comply with vaccination regulations.

TRAINING GRANT:
Once again we need some suggestions for the good use of this grant, something to benefit all the clubs in our Area 15. Bring your suggestions to the meeting for open debate.
We had a Health and safety talk last year. Those club reps that turned up thought it was beneficial, it was a shame a few more didn't attend.
We have had a request to hold a meeting for guidelines for club officials. Often when new officers take over a clubs management, they would like to have some guidelines and information on organising events and doing their best for their clubs members.
This is just one suggestion. If you can think of a good idea for training contact me at nagline@yahoo.co.uk Pam at pam@davidson31.freeserve

BRC MEMBERSHIP LISTS:
Once again we have had a reminder from BRC. Requesting that all club secretaries ensure that all their members are registered with The HQ. Office. As failure to do this will affect the clubs insurance cover, which could prove to be a serious error if there was an accident. Also any members, who are not on their database, will not be receiving their "Rider" magazine!!
